2. Nvidia

With the launch of the Omniverse open beta in December 2020, Nvidia took its first step towards contributing to the development of the Metaverse.

Omniverse sets out to “unify the 3D world” and find “a common way for people to collaborate, whether across the room or anywhere in the world.” says Richard Kelisgeneral manager of Nvidia’s Omniverse.

Within the Nvidia Omniverse, content creators can now collaborate and create real-time, three-dimensional digital content.

Tencent is a multinational internet-based entertainment and technology conglomerate headquartered in Shenzhen, China.

As one of the world’s most profitable multimedia companies, it’s no wonder Tencent is one of the major forces in the development of the global metaverse.

The internet giant, who will be entering the Metaverse race in early 2022, has created a so-called “augmented reality” division. This unit of technical experts aims to develop hardware and other services for the Metaverse.

Initially, little information about the division was made public. Reuters tells us Tencent’s Augmented Reality division is developing a Metaverse-optimized headset for its first Metaverse project.
