After years of speculation, there are clear signs that Apple plans to enter the metaverse with its own AR/VR headset featuring 3D video services.according to Mark Garnman A Bloomberg company has posted a job posting for a video service for augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets. Suitable candidates will help create 3D virtual reality videos for headsets.

This isn’t the first time Apple has made clear its intentions to enter the AR/VR space. Two years ago, the company acquired his NextVR. At the time, NextVR specialized in delivering high-quality 3D sports and music coverage in his VR on Quest devices. However, this will change after the acquisition.

Apple’s Metaverse Plan

Apple also lists another job that needs someone to help develop a 3D mixed reality world. Experts in the work believe the company is about to enter the metaverse with its own iteration.

The metaverse seems to be the next big thing in the technology space. That’s why many big tech companies are taking steps to prepare for what’s to come. Facebook and others have already spent more than $100 billion on this effort. Also, the social media giant changed its name to meta.

Not much is known about Apple’s Metaverse plans, though. However, those in the know believe the VR headset will cost around $2,000 to $3,000. It features an embedded Mac-level M2 chip, 10+ cameras, and the industry’s highest resolution VR display.

The news follows reports earlier this month that Apple has hired two co-founders of mixed reality studio Playdeo. This two of him will help the company with his AR/VR and Metaverse efforts. After joining Apple, they had to close the studio. The studio was behind the hit game Avo. An iOS game where you draw a line for an avocado to guide it through different environments.
