Cero Connect SalonA short walk from the main event, the salon venue offered two levels of intimate and spacious space where we could meet, mingle and learn. The ground floor hosted panel discussions, workshops, and interactive experiences designed for developers. The first floor was a designated space for collaboration and meetings, fostering community connection and creativity. The salon also served fresh crepes and artisan coffee to keep everyone energized.
All in all, the Salon was a huge success, welcoming over 700 people and delivering on Celo’s mission of prosperity for all, including regenerative finance (ReFi), social impact, financial inclusion and DAOs. Participated in 25 sessions focused on conference themes. .
Here are some of the highlights from this week’s events at the Salon.
The salon started with an open house. Curious Parisians, EthCC conference attendees and, of course, members of the Celo community (many of whom were meeting for the first time) gathered to choose which panel discussions and interactive workshops to attend and which wellness services to attend. Many people have taken advantage of coworking spaces to keep up outside the office.

The second day began with the first panel discussion of the day, with Rene Reinsberg, President of Thero Foundation, welcoming everyone to the Salon. The third day of the salon started with great news. Launch of the Social Impact CollectiveThe new Collective has three main goals. On the fourth day Web3 Community Building Fireside Chat, a discussion of what community means in general and what it means for the Celo ecosystem in particular, and how to build a meaningful and vibrant Web3 community.The panel included Alison Filler of the Climate Collective, Eric Nakagawa and Daniel Olarte of the Celo Foundation, and talent protocola community of practice, a community of purpose, and Web3’s unique position to allow communities to come together in both.
Another highlight of Day 4 was the What are DAOs? undulation Co-Founders Juliette Chevalier, Miguel Piedrafita Constitution DAOEmo Kirk’s friends with benefits When gradient venturesand Filipę Macedo of Talent Protocol discussed whether DAOs should be fully decentralized and fully automated, and whether all Web3 native companies should adopt the DAO model.
Next is founder Kevin Owocki. gitcoin, sat down with Xochitl Cazador, Head of Ecological Growth at the Celo Foundation, to discuss the intersection of public goods, ReFi, and hyperstructures (protocols that can run forever without support for free). “Hyperstructure is where we build new institutions in the information age,” Owocki told the audience.
Then Andrei Berlin, CEO and co-founder deep work ended the day with Fun product and DAO design, workshops covering organizational principles for creative collaboration, decentralized recruitment, and focused work. He also facilitated hands-on exercises that show how teams can quickly align on accountability and fair compensation, and shared tools and resources to help create a resilient Web3 enterprise.

The EthCC Celo Salon Pitchathon was moderated by Eric Nakagawa, Brandy Camacho, and Joe Nyzio from the Celo Foundation’s DevRel team and featured a day of fast-paced pitch competition with a prize pool of 5,000 cUSD. The event brings together founders, developers, and product leaders to develop new ideas to shape the future of Web3. Yoon’s Yassine Mhamdi took his #1 spot. Congrats Yashin!

The EthCC Hackathon took place the weekend after the Celo Salon closed, attracting hundreds of attendees and dozens of sponsors. Celo offered a total prize of 9500 cEUR to the winning team to build his mobile-first ReFi solution. The Celo Foundation DevRel team has connected with developers and partners around the world who are building new dapps on Celo. It was a great weekend!
