Lost your car in the Metaverse? No worries. Three car rental companies, Alamo, Enterprise, and National, have joined the list of companies filing Metaverse trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
According to a recent tweet by the insightful Mike Kondoudis, the application was made on November 9th.
This application includes incentive rewards and special promotions in the Metaverse that can be redeemed for goods in both the real and virtual worlds. It also offers retail activities around digital collectibles such as virtual vehicles.
Another filing by the umbrella company includes trademarks in downloadable digital files in the form of non-fungible tokens that verify authentication. The proposed digital collectibles compromise digital transportation and auto parts for a virtual experience in a virtual world.
Other multimedia files included in the filling include artwork, videos related to virtual vehicles, and downloadable computer programs related to cars in the Metaverse.
