Goblintown Makes Viral Twitch Gaming Appearance

0

Just when you thought it was safe to return to the digital world, the infamous Goblin Town NFT Collection It raised its malformed head again. This time, through a viral appearance on the hit indie title “Only Up,” Twitch video streaming his service sneaks into one of his highest-performing games.

Earlier this week, “Only Up” started trending on the Twitch platform, reaching a staggering 109,000 concurrent viewers. But it was the background images that really struck a chord, with the anarchic Goblin Town NFT project popping up multiple times throughout the game.

Released by a fledgling game developer, SCKRgame, Only Up pits players against relentless gravity. Essentially, it’s taking a break from the Jack and the Beanstalk school story as participants embark on a never-ending journey to heaven. Throughout their ascending trajectory, the keen-eyed player and his Twitch viewers noticed more than a few nods to the Goblin Town series.

Goblintown Creative Commons License Encourages Use of IP

As of now, it’s unknown if the Goblin Town NFT Collection was involved in any way in the development of the game. However, the advanced Commercial Commons 0 license allows anyone to use the Goblintown IP regardless of NFT ownership.

What this means is that anyone can use Goblintown imagery within their commercial projects without fear of legal backlash. As a result, Goblintown IP proliferates in the digital realm, creating a perfect storm for viral campaigns.

This notable development includes more than just a mocking soup-con against the Steam platform Only Up has access to. Back in late 2021, gaming giants publicly banned NFT-based games from their ecosystems.
