Perhaps one of the most famous basketball players of today, LeBron James recently spotted himself wearing RTFKT Nike sneakers. These special edition kicks can only be purchased by creating his NFT on the Ethereum blockchain.
James was seen wearing the RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 Genesis sneaker ahead of the Lakers game in which LeBron’s team beat the Golden State Warriors in the NBA’s Western Conference Semifinals. The Lakers have released a picture of James wearing a limited edition red and black sporting his shoes with teammate Anthony Davis.
The company behind the virtual fashion platform shared a photo on Twitter, getting RTFKT and basketball fans excited.

Following the enthusiastic fan comments, RTFKT co-founder Steven Vasilev (also known as Zaptio) wanted to share a photo of himself and RTFKT’s COO Nikhil Gopalani, giving James a personalized Clone. Presented the X NFT avatar.

RTFKT changed the metadata of the single CLONE X NFT in September to include “LBJ whiskers” and yellow and purple crowns. – make Digital assets are more unique and valuable. The RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 Genesis collection consists of 1,776 pairs of sneakers, available by purchasing a Genesis NFT and switching to a physical product. However, collectors can redeem physical versions of limited-edition footwear until May 8th.
Conversely, the Clone X collection, which represents the RTFKT brand, is a hub of 20,000 3D avatars that can be used in metaverse experiences such as virtual worlds and augmented reality. These avatars were designed by talented NFT artist Takashi Murakami, There are eight different groups according to “DNA type”, all of which represent different parts of society. Half of the collection are human avatars and the other half are clone X types. The current lowest price for one of these digital assets is $6,244.68, according to. coin gecko.
In addition to its RTFKT work, Nike recently launched its own digital sneaker and apparel platform called .Swoosh on Polygon. Already in the ecosystem he has over 33,000 users and plans to create “Our Force 1” NFT-based sneakers in the next few days (May 8th).
