Top NFT Marketplace, magic eden, launched “Mint Madness”. This is an epic gaming event offering free his NFT mints for over a dozen Web3 titles. This special occasion will be held during his March and the games will be spread across his three networks.

In total Magic Eden supports 13 free Web3 games spread across Ethereum, Solana and Polygon blockchains. All of these are developed by both traditional game studios and Web3 native creators and feature non-fungible tokens for in-game items. Titles that are part of this series include Planet Mojo from the game metaverse and His Shrapnel from the popular AAA first-person shooter His game.

Commenting on the decision to release these games for free this month, Magic Eden Chief Game Officer Chris Akhavan said: “We have found that many games entering Web3 do not necessarily need to use NFTs as a monetization tool. It’s a very important user engagement tool for working with people.”

Magic Eden groups players into pools

To stay competitive, Magic Eden has committed to posting leaderboards on its social media channels featuring the top NFT traders across the Mint Madness collection. A Web3 gamer can expect to be pooled with his group of top traders within the particular chain on which the game he participates is based.

For example, the top 10 traders by Polygon collection volume will be pooled into a prize pool of 20,000 MATIC, or approximately $25,500 at the time of writing. The first place winner will be awarded 4,500 MATIC, or approximately $5,400.

The announcement comes a week after venture arm Magic Eden Ventures invested in 11 Web3 game studios. The NFT market seems keen to capitalize on the growing interest in Web3 games.
