Metaverse trademark applications continue to reach the US Patent and Trademark Office, this time from the Visa credit card company. The Oct. 22 filing includes many of the same trademarks as earlier Metaverse filings this week by PayPal and Western Union.
This isn’t Visa’s first foray into Web3 technology. Web3 Loyalty Program by ShopNEXTThis shows that large fintech companies are becoming more committed to the future metaverse.
Visa Metaverse Trademarks
According to Mike Kondoudis in a recent tweet, the company has made two applications. The company includes the following in its filing:
- Software for auditing digital, virtual, and cryptocurrencies
- Software for managing digital assets via digital wallets, including validating digital transactions and storing NFTs
- Establish a virtual environment where users can connect for entertainment and leisure in the virtual world.
